Presenating Information Questions

March 9, 2010

1. I do not like to present information in front of people because I am not comfortable with going up in front of people and I get nervous when I do.

2. I think that proper grammar, correct information, and having a good idea of what you are talking about are good elements for putting together a speech.

3. Giving a speech about something that you enjoy will make it a lot easier on you when you have to present it because you enjoy giving knowledge and talking about something that you enjoy. Giving a speech about something that you do not have interest in will be harder because you will have to do much more research before hand and you will not have fun giving the speech because you too might not know to much about the topic.

4. PowerPoint is a helpful tool when giving a presentation because it gives your audience a visual and could help them understand what you are talking about a lot better.

5. Yes, I think I will be using Power Point after high school because it is a very help ful and useful tool when presenting information.

Will Smith-Black History Month

February 22, 2010

The person I have chosen to write about is Will Smith. Will Smith was born and raised in West Philadelphia where he earned the nickname “prince” because of how he used his charm to get him out of trouble. This turned into a future show for him called “The Fresh Prince of Belar.” Will Smith is also a very popular music artist and has also stared in a lot of popular movies including “Men and Black” and “Hitch” and many more. He has won a number of awards for both and still continues to do so now. Will Smith is a very successful man and is a very good role model for people to look up to.

Creative Story

November 5, 2009

After my long day at school and doing a lot of homework I decided to call it a night and go to bed. I was having a tough time sleeping, flipping left and right. I was doing everything I can just to get away from it all and get some rest. Then all of a sudden I felt something hit my head, it was a little rock. I was saying to myself where could this have come from? Then I heard a little voice that greeted me with a “hello.” I was scared at first and said back ” who are and where did you come from?”

He responded back with ” I’m the prince of Yankee Island, I’m down here.” I still was looking around and couldn’t find him.

“I’m sorry I think I’m going crazy, I don’t see you where are you?”

As I said this I was again hit by another rock in the chin. Following that I felt something heavy on my knee and as I look down I saw a little man climbing on my knee. Once I saw this I was very frightened and did not know what to do. The little man told me not to worry and he explained who he was. He was the king of Yankee Island and was here to make sure my friends and I were Yankee fans. I explained to the man who was dressed in all Yankee apparel that we were huge Yankee fans and we would never root for anyone else. He said he was pleased and left. I finally got a good night sleep after such a weird day and night.

Wisdom of forgiveness after unspeakable tragedy

November 3, 2009

This is article is about Matt La Porte, a student who was murder in the April 16, 2007 shooting at Virgina Tech. He was a quiet child, but extremely profound according to his parents. He also played the cello and the drums and was greatly loyal to his parents and his parents. He also had the barest of essentials.

This article was written to show how people’s lives can be taken in a unexpected time. It also explains how a mother tells stories of her son when he was younger and how she and the rest of the family are trying to move on. This article also tells about how the family tries to forgive the man even though he is too dead. The family is trying to adapt to life without him.

Five interesting facts I found in this article are that Matt’s family is completely faith-based. You can not allow yourself to hold grudges against people. Many of life’s actions are unexpected. Even though, we sin by omission we must seek out the those who are like mind and join each other. April 16 will be remebred as a sadden day all over the world.

This article relates to my life because these type of things happen everyday. People loose family members almost everyday and they learn to move on and live with what had happened. People have to be strong and believe that God will help them through the hard times. These help people get through these everyday.

If I was in charge of writing this article I wouldn’t change much. But, the only thing I would change is that I would describe the story of Virgina Tech a little more to the people that don’t know about it. Otherwise it describes about Matt and what he was like when he was younger and gives a good detail about him. I think the best part is when it tells people you have to be strong and believe in the help of God to get past these troubles.
